Migrate Virtual Machine - ESX to Hyper-V - Unable to start the cmdlet New-SCV2V for JobGroup

Yesterday was trying to move a VM in my lab from a ESX 5.0 host to a Hyper-V 2012 host using SCVMM 2012 SP1.

In the Migrate Virtual Machine wizard I received a warning which was about storage which I knew I could ignore it. The interesting part was the error message I got in the end of the wizard once I clicked on Move to start the migration.

The error is as below:

It turns out you have to remove any network adapter from the VM before you can migrate it.

In order to remove it just go to the properties of the VM, scroll down and select the network adapter(s) and click on Remove and OK.

Once this is done the VM will migrate gracefully.
