Thank you for the Recipe it saved me from hours of trouble shooting.
ReplyDeleteGlad it worked out well.
ReplyDeleteHello
ReplyDeleteDo you have any problems, with "unable to find adobe pdf resource files", when you try to convert a Office documents?
No. Have you virtualized Office as well? If yes than try to integrate both using the Dynamic Suite Composition.
ReplyDeleteCreated a custom package first with "Adobe Customization Wizard X" download at: http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/update-patch-acrobat-reader-10.html
ReplyDeleteI removed the end user licende agreement and auto updates.
Downloaded latest updates at: http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/update-patch-acrobat-reader-10.html
Next sequenced app as described here. Added reg key:
Key: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\10.0\FeatureLockDown
Value: bProtectedMode
Type: REG_DWORD
Data: 0
This made it possible to run the app during sequencing. Also installed the downloaded updates during installation fase.
As it is now possible to run the app, i also did an customize of the app and optimized the streaming process.
Great, thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThe app virtualized as directed however is unable to complete a "attach to EMail" function it comes back unable to find the default mail client. can this be fixed?
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteThis will only work if you virtualize the mail client as well. Then use the dynamic suite composition to integrate them.
Cheers
Like Kenneth, I get the "Unable to find Adobe PDF resource files" error as well..
ReplyDeleteSequenced Acrobat X
Local Interaction set to true
Made a dependency (Dynamic Suite Composition) to our virtualized Office 2010
Deployed to client and everything works fine except for the Office Documents Conversion - what have i missed here?

Sorry, I'm not sure about that and I'm in Indonesia on holiday so I don't have easy access to a computer or internet.
ReplyDeleteOh, enjoy your holidays then :) But if you could look into this once you are back I would really appreciate it. I have absolutely no clue to why I get this error all the time :(
ReplyDeletewill do. I'm in a 3 months holiday though lol

ReplyDeleteYou're the man!
ReplyDeleteAwesome recipe, thank you Felipe!
The recipe is still valid for Acrobat Pro XI, saved me a ton of debugging.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the guide, for a while it seem to be working, however after closing/opening a few pdf documents i got a PDapp.exe unable to start correclty(0xc0150002). Anyone else got this issue?
ReplyDeleteLooks like you missed something in these steps:
ReplyDeleteBrowse to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE\PDApp\core and copy the folder Microsoft.VC90.CRT
Paste it in Q:\AcroProX\VFS\CSIDL_PROGRAM_FILES_COMMON\Adobe\OOBE\PDApp\core replacing the existing files. Now delete the 3 .config files from the folder.
Thanks for your reply Felipe. I forgot to write, I am using this guide to pack Acrobat XI not X. So noticed a few things - you need to install c++ redistrubuale 2010sp1 before installing acrobat, else of the guide is the same (except the acrotray is now not there). Sq with 4.6 and 4.6sp1. will give it a few more tries and let you know.
ReplyDeleteGreat thanks for the info!
ReplyDeleteI am working with Appv 5.0 and I followed these instructions but I get a Adobe Configuration error 16 after I launch adobe. Do you know what might have caused this?
ReplyDeleteI will soon try to give you an update on this issue.
ReplyDeleteBack to the "unable to find Adobe PDF resource files" error what if we do not have Office virtualized but is locally installed but Acrobat is. Whenever a user tries to combine Office-type files to make into 1 PDF they get that same error message. Any updates to this?
ReplyDeleteHi as far as I'm aware integration is not possible if Office is not virtualized.
ReplyDeletehi,
ReplyDeleteI've followed your instructions and it worked like charm.
However after opening multiple number of times of appv adobe standard, getting error described in http://forums.adobe.com/message/5247779.
I've done repair on the appv and I can get it to launch again.
Do you know what the root cause of the problem I am facing?
