Fingerprint and BitLocker

You still can keep using your laptop FingerPrint software and sensor with BitLocker encryption.

Some products require that you suspend BitLocker before setting the fingerprint up. In order to suspend bitlocker go to the Control Panel then BitLocker Drive Encryption.

Now click on Suspend Protection. After you set it up you can resume BitLocker.

Also if you are in a domain environment make sure you configure the Biometrics to allow users to log on to the domain using their fingerprints. In order to enable that go to the Control Panel, click on Biometrics and select Change Settings. Now tick the Allow users to log on to a domain using their fingerprints.



You can also accomplish that using Group Policies. Go to the Group Policy  Editor - Computer Configuration - Policies - Administrative Templates - Biometrics and enable the required policies.



Note that you can't integrate the Bitlocker PIN as you can integrate Power-on passwords with the Fingerprint software.
