Sequencing VMware vSphere Client - Recipe

I'm going to use vSphere 4.1, App-V Sequencer 4.6 SP1 and Windows XP SP3.

First extract the EXE file.

If you have it already extracted then run the installer for .NET 3.0 SP1, Virtual J# 2.0 and then restart the computer.

Start the Sequencer and Create a New Virtual Application Package. Click Next twice, select Standard Application and click Next.

Now select the vSphere installer that you extracted before. Click Next.

Give the package a name.

Install it with the defaults except the location where it will be installed. Change it to point to the virtual drive.

Now tick I am finished installing and click on Next.

Select the application and click to Run Selected.

After the application is launched type the name or IP of your server and click on Login so it remembers the server. (Only do this step if you want it to remember the server)

Now close it and click Next. Click Next again.

Now just keep the default "Stop now. Create a basic virtual application package" and Click Next. If you want to customize the shortcut then select Customize and click Next.

Click on Create and you are done!
